Matt was born and raised on his family ranch in Star Valley Wyoming. His dad trained performance horses from the roping pen to the cutting pen. While going to college Matt was stating colts, putting him and his wife through school, when his old saddle finally gave up the ghost. Being a struggling college student, he built himself his first wade ranch saddle with qualities of a performance saddle incorporated; a ground seat that is close to the horses back so you can sit the stop, full leg swing fenders and close contact skirts. Clients would then ride their colts in his saddle and beg for him to build them one with these unique qualities in a ranch saddle and from there the business has grown to a full-time saddle shop.
